Remembering my lovely Godmother. Such lovely memories to cherish from my childhood, when we visited you and you came to our house, card games were played a lot! My late Mum and Marie were life long friends

Thank you to Auntie Marie for being my second mum throughout my childhood (with Auntie Marie Petit). You taught me to swim, introduced me to some of my favourite authors, we all watched Dallas and Dynasty together and you helped me with my knitting! We all ran in and out of our 3 homes, the Curlings, Petits and Kirks, playing, trips to the beach, picnics, halloween parties, the list is endless. You were a constant calming and loving presence throughout my childhood and I will always remember you with love, Jane xx

I have such fond memories of Grandma Marie. She was always remarkably well composed and elegant. She had a brilliant intellect and dry sense of humour. She kept Grandad in check at all times which I'm sure was no easy task! However, the thing I most admired about her was her humility and caring personality. She always had time to listen and offer her thoughtful insights and wisdom on any conversations we had. When our daughter Amelia was born, and were struggling into new uncharted territory for us, she sent us very warm hearted letters of encouragement and even hand knitted some lovely cardigans in the perfect new born size which was quite an amazing skill. She will be so dearly missed by us all and will live on in our hearts forever.

  • Thank you both so much for all the support you have given me over the years. You have both been so kind, lovely neighbours and very good friends. As for the adult swims when we were all at school, was this when my dad got thrown out of the Black Lion for jumping off the diving board. You six were worse than us children who were angels. Love You Both XXXXX

Dear Marie, I often stayed at your house. Mel and I would mess around on Dads CB. Best part was your dinners, my favourite cheese and onion potato pie with spaghetti hoops and a cup of tea before we went ice-skating.
Penfold the hamster was the highlight of coming round your house, me and Mel took him from school, and we wanted to keep him at home that much that we even lied to the school and told them that he died.
I will never forget the golden memories of
Marie, sleep tighy you done a wonderful job bringing up 2 beautiful daughters. Lots of love, Kaz 😘

Couldn't have asked for a more supportive and loving Grandma to grow up with all throughout my childhood and Teens, whether it be having me round for a sleepover and waking up early to watch TV together, Our little tea breaks on Saturday school which always included a perfect selection of biscuits. You spoilt and taught me so much while growing up and I will cherish that all throughout my adulthood and pass on your kindness to the future generations of our family.

Love you so much, Kian x

Not a day goes by when I don’t think about you Grandma. You were there for me in my darkest times and I will never be able to repay you for that. One thing I am happy for though is that you are now at peace (even if you’re with grandad up there!) and you were able to meet Noah who still remembers the fun he had on your stairlift! Until we meet again, love from the favourite grandchild, granddaughter-in-law and great-grandson, Daniel, Emma and Noah xxxx

The most loving and caring Grandma we all could ask for, and took care of us all until the very end. We're glad you are finally reunited with Grandad and can listen to his awful jokes! We will always remember everything you've done for us, but you can rest in peace now. Love always, Ryan and Courtney x
