On 15th November 2022, at his home in Earlsheaton, aged 85 years, Barrie, loving and much loved husband of Joan, dearly loved dad of Karen, Michelle and Mandy, a dear father in law, grandad and great grandad.
Funeral service will be held at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Thursday 8th December 2022 at 11:15am.
Friends and family please accept this intimation and meet at the crematorium. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Barrie may be made online or sent to George Brooke Ltd., for the benefit of Yorkshire Cancer Research.

I remember you when the squirrel comes
You watched him scurry every day
When the fox brought vixen and cubs
For the food you left, along its way
When the magpies fight, for one wedge of bread
And pigeons wobble around
The sparrows bib n bob about,
For food left on the ground

A colourful flower, the rustling trees

Grandad, you were the best grandad anyone could wish to have. You meant more than words can say! I will miss your presence, your voice and just everything about you. Your spirit will live on forever and I know you’ll still be watching over us all. Thank you for all our special memories, laughs and good times and thank you for being my amazing grandad! Grandad, I will always remember sitting with you with a glass of grandad's medecine (whiskey) listening to your stories for hours on end. Rest in peace grandad "old lad"

Well Barrie, I can say with my hand on my heart that you were a gent from start to finish. You welcomed me into the family with a glass of whisky. All I can say is thank t was an honour and a privilege to have known you for these past twenty years.
