In loving memory of Colm Thomas Murphy who sadly passed away on 28th October 2022 aged 66 years. He will be dearly missed by his wife Catherine and all of his family and friends.

A church service will be held at St John The Evangelist church in Gravesend at 1.30 on Monday 5th December. A private committal for family will follow.

The church service will be available on a live stream. This can be accessed through the church website: https://stjohnsgravesend.co.uk/ which then allows you to access the YouTube channel of the church. The livestream should also be available to view on the YouTube channel after the service.

A service in Ireland will be arranged at a later date.

Colm’s family have asked for immediate family flowers only. If you wish to make a donation to the Normandy Memorial Trust, this would be greatly appreciated.

I still can't believe it.
You were such a great teacher, one of the greats. I'm sure everyone would definitely agree that you made lessons fun, exciting and interesting. You went above and beyond, helping with GCSE/A Level Choices, motivating all students and making them realise their full potential. You gave St Johns your all. Thankyou for your service with the school. Rest in Peace, Sir, you will never be forgotten, forever in our memories.

Mr Murphy, you were the most loveliest, loyal and dedicated teacher I met in my entire Secondary school life and you certainly were a teacher who was never forgotten. Your lessons and your words of wisdom were ones that stuck with me even now nearly in my 30's. It is such a massive loss and your passing brings me great sadness but I hope whereever you are now you are in peace and I send my thoughts and prayers to your family but also to all the other people's heart you touched as you certainly touched mine. Fly High Mr Murphy!
