Dad, I think the only appropriate thing to say is thank you. Thank you for being the kindest, most understanding, devoted and caring father anyone could ask for, words cannot even begin to describe how much we will all miss you. You were taken far too soon, but I hope now you can rest in peace. I hope you are watching from above as the boys in blue do you proud! I will follow them in your memory for the rest of my life.

Thank you for everything you ever did for me, to mould me into the man I am today.

I love you more than you could ever know,

Jamie xxx

Dear Michael, your very sudden departure from the arms of your family has left us all with enormous sadness and in great shock. For dearest Susan and your two wonderful sons, James and Matthew, your sense of loss is undoubtedly unrelenting. Thankfully, you are now without any pain and can rest in peace, which you so deserve. God bless, Michael, and our love is with you. Auntie Pam, Cheryl & Robert xxx

As kids we were close, and I looked up to Mick my big brother. We played, we laughed, we cried, we shared toys and clothes, we fought often and we went everywhere together. Played football, and cricket on the Rec, rode our bikes and climbed trees. Suffered cuts and bruises and broken bones together. We weren’t exactly rich in those days but we had a loving family and never went short of anything. Mum and dad worked incredibly hard for us. At school we were two years apart but I always wanted to be with him and his friends, I’m sure I drove him mad at times, but he never complained. In our teens we discovered Football and beer, we followed Ipswich at home, away and in Europe, we loved going to Portman Rd and were fortunate to be of an age to watch the greatest team in our history. We drunk lots (under statement) played pool, and made great friends during those wonderful years, and had several epic holidays in Cornwall. Mick was better than me at most things, and he was a great carpenter, I still have things he made me, and I will cherish them for ever. I remember he bought me a set of wood chisels once, because I used one of his as a screw driver… As we grew older we saw less and less of each other, we had our own lives and families, but Christmas and birthdays and football brought us together. My thoughts are with Susan, Jamie, Matthew, Karan and mum, and of course everybody who knew him. Several people have said he was a gentle man, and that is so true, Mick was a gentle kind soul, he will be missed as a husband, a father, a son and a Brother. Rest In Peace Mick (I still have those chisels)

Mick, you were taken too soon. We had some great times which I will always remember with love, the footy games, pub pool matches, even sharing a house for a short time. I'll miss you. My thoughts are with Joan, Sue, Jamie, Matt and Andy.
