Martin was my best friend for 55 years; the brother I never had. My mother loved him as a son. He was my rock, my confidant, my daily dose of calm and fun. There will never be another Martin and I shall miss him for the rest of my life.

In memory of Martin who was a wonderful neighbour to our family on Reigate Heath and who always had time for a chat. Our daughter will always remember that Martin was the kind man who found her wandering past his front door (aged two) having escaped the garden and returned her whilst asking me if I had lost anything?! Such a lovely gentleman. Jeni, Niall, Ossie & Mia

I joined Woodgavil in 1988. Martin was already part of the furniture then. He has worked for the family since before God created accountants.

His loyalty to the company was unwavering through more than 50 years and I knew I could always trust him for an honest opinion. He was so kind to my Mum after Dad died - nothing was ever too much trouble.

Martin was a rock. He remembered everything about everything and quietly and cheerfully steered us all toward the straight and narrow.

His gentle and kind presence and cheeky sense of humour was a major part of the camaraderie that made our little office a special place and he will be sorely missed

Thank you Martin. We love
you

Martin was the true definition of a gentleman. He was very gentle. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was always very kind, generous and supportive and was generally the one to try to heal disputes and upsets. He could also be very stubborn and hated people telling him what to do 😂 (but aren't most of us?). We certainly forgive him that because we will miss him very much. He had become part of our family over the years and the family will all miss him dearly.
It is just very sad that he had to go through so much during the last few weeks of his life.
Let us hope Martin is now at peace.

Martin has been part of our family for over 40 years. He was a very kind and generous man, a wonderful friend, with a great interest in and love of the past. He will be sadly missed, especially by my two granddaughters and their partners.

I am so sorry to hear of the sad passing of Martin B, as he was so affectionately known.
He was always so cheerful, funny and kind but above all, a true gent.
He was infact my lucky charm and I will treasure those wonderful memories of the fun we had together at Ladies Day and our elation of winning especially as neither of us had a clue what we were doing!
I am so sad that I cannot be with you today to say my final goodbyes to you Martin but send you lots of love and will always remember you with such great fondness.
Rest in peace you lovely man, love from Tina
