I only just came across the obituary for Steve. He was a valued friend and an inspiration to me many years ago. I will raise a glass to his memory. A sad loss to this world.

In loving memory of Stephen 'Steve' Fitches who sadly passed away on 7th August 2022 Steve was was born and grew up in Stamford, Lincolnshire. He went on to study Mathematics at St Andrews University, Fifeshire. He worked first for Rolls Royce as a Systems Analyst then via several other companies to Software AG where as head of the training department, he developed and delivered software training packages
Steve's interests were many and varied, from cricket to Horse racing, reading, quizzes, and collecting many things.
He was an observer of life and loved to sit and people watch, he loved to engage in conversation with a great range of people. His love of and for life was eternal.

My condolences to Sue and his family.
I had the pleasure of working with and for Steve at Software AG in Derby. I will never forget his quick and ready wit and tremendous humour, nor the lunchtime snooker sessions when he always beat me!
You will be sorely missed, old chum!
