Penelope June Chanie (21 Sep 1938 - 20 Aug 2022)

In loving memory of Penelope June Chanie who sadly passed away on 20th August 2022. Penny lived life to the full and travelled widely. She was a keen tennis player, loved Crystal Palace FC, had a passion for car boot sales and always adored her own and other people's pets - in fact she loved all animals and relished being surrounded by nature. Her parties were legendary and her sense of fun infectious. She loved her many gardens, ranging from almost palatial to her last small garden in Beare Green where she had plans for an ornate pond. She was able to make the ordinary beautiful with a touch of her hand. She leaves behind many friends and her family whom she loved. Her life contained its fair share of pain and sorrow but her optimistic nature and resiliance carried her through. Her passing was quick and unexpected - she was finally taken by a heart attack. Penny was fiercely independent and if any consolation can be taken from her passing is that she was walking, talking, understanding and living life to the end. We shall all miss her.
