He was a great man. Met him over 10 years ago when my daughter dated his son and he has been the father figure to her that she never had since. For this I will always be grateful.

So sad that Mark has been taken despite such courage, strength and positivity. A true gentleman, really lovely guy whose company we have had the pleasure of sharing from time to time over the past 40 years. He will be hugely missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Sincere condolences to Penny, his boys and all of the family.

I was saddened to hear this news. I met Mark at a number of networking events. I was often nervous and unsure where to start but Mark would always give a warm welcome and handshake, stop and talk for a while and put me at ease. One of life's good uns.

To Penny and Matthew and Michael, please accept my condolences. Over the years we have lost touch, as often happens when people move, have families, change jobs etc, but I have always remembered Mark with affection. Mark was my first recruit when we started the Premier Telecom Team at the end of the 80's and for a few exciting years we enjoyed growing a successful little business from what BT disparagingly referred to as the "lock up at Markfield" ( bad losers!) We all went on to greater things afterwards, but there was something special about those sunny days so long ago. I still cannot listen to Bill Withers " Lovely day" without thinking of us all singing it at the top of our voices, in Mark's beloved Escort Ghia on the way to the pub for a lunchtime cob.
I am so sorry that work prevents me attending, but I will be reliving happy memories of Mark on the day.
Mike
