In loving memory of Eric Mansfield who sadly passed away on 22nd May 2022, aged 92 years. Much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Loved and missed by all his family and friends.

Niels Arveschoug donated £30 in memory of Eric

Eric was a good family man who cared for his nearest and dearest. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. He was always cheerful with his funny quips like “winters draws on”.

Eric was a man of many words.I loved hearing his stories over and over again. He made me smile, chuckle and cry at times with his way with words.
When I first met Eric it took me nearly an hour to get up the rest of the road to go shopping. He knew how to tell a story and sometimes, when I looked out of my window, he would have had at least three conversations with people on his way up to do his shopping for his beloved Joyce.
He was a man of the community and had a magical way of bringing people together. He knew what community was and made Myrtle Road the road it is now...people looking out for each other. He loved his street parties and memories of one where he rolled up his tracksuit bottoms, picked up a child and ran down to the finish with him in the 3 legged race always stick with me.
Eric always said he had had the best life and was very lucky. He loved talking about his children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of
each and everyone.

I miss our chats and cups of tea.
RIP Eric. You will never be forgotten.
Very much missed and loved.
Beth xx
