Such sad news. John was such a gentleman . I have fond memories of my time at NRCE doing music with him. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 1st June 2022 aged 88 years.
Beloved husband of Catherine, father to Christopher and Claire, and a loving grandfather.
Requiem Mass to be held at St George’s Roman Catholic Church, Eastfield on Wednesday 6th July at 1pm followed by private family committal. Family flowers only however donations can be made in memory of John to Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

I have many fond memories of John during my time as a music student at North Riding College of Education in Scarborough between 1978 and 1981. John was such a gentle man, very supportive and kind. I have had the pleasure to see him a few times recently over the last few years when he and his lovely wife Catherine showed their support by attending my piano pupil’s concerts. (Catherine being a pupil of mine).
Sending my best wishes to Catherine and the family. He will be sadly missed .
