In loving memory of Barbara Jean Wilson (nee Myers) who sadly passed away on 24th May 2022
Barbara was born on 30th January 1927 in Basford and attended the Manning School
She was the oldest of 4 and had 3 brothers
She married Gerald Wilson (1928-2013) on 20th February 1960 and had one daughter Karen
She was School Secretary at Forest Fields Grammar School and later at John E. Wrights as a Shorthand Typist
She enjoyed hiking in Derbyshire and met Gerald playing Badminton
She lived in Nottingham all her life apart from when she was evacuated to Mansfield during the war
She went to the Day Centre at Calverton and also at the Conifers Rest Home, where she went to live from 2020

Sending heartfelt condolences to Karen, your mum was a one off and such a lovely person. This picture brings back my happy times spent working with Barbara (I am sitting next to her in this school photograph) She taught me so much and was such a generous person. We were not only colleagues but became good friends. Barbara and Gerald were lovely people. Thankyou Karen for taking the trouble to inform me of Barbara"s death when you have so much to do at this very sad time.
