In loving memory of Kevin Friday ‘Little Kev’

Kevin was a very special and unique person who was adventurous, fun and caring. He lived for the best experiences in life and wanted to share these with his amazing friends which I’m sure he would have considered second families. Whether you were a close friend, a friend of a friend, a former work colleague or someone that you were lucky enough to have met on his crazy adventures, you would have shared some very special memories and experiences with him. He lived for his adventurous holidays, the theatre shows, the running events and playing the piano. He lived life on his terms and it was always full of fun and adventure. He was lucky to enough to experience so many great things in his life.

Kevin’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 1st June 2022 at 11:00am at the Garden of England Crematorium, Sheppy Way, Sittingbourne, ME9 8GZ.

A wake will follow to celebrate Kevin’s life at The Woodstock, Broadoak Road, Sittingbourne, ME9 8AG.

An online webcast is also available to all those who are unable to make the above date. Please message Luke Friday via Facebook for further details.

We have selected two charities that we believe Kevin would have supported for anyone wishing to make donations: Samaritans and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Both of these charities provide support and offer life saving services for those who are struggling in their personal lives. This could be anxiety, relationship concerns, health worries, money worries or suicidal thoughts. They both provide helplines and web-chats 365 days a year to be there for anyone in need. Mental health, especially mens mental health, has always been a taboo subject and one to avoid, however this shouldn’t be the case! 125 lives are lost a week to suicide in the UK. 75% of those are male. This is no longer a subject to avoid but a subject to actively engage with. To seek help and not to fear judgement from peers. We need banish the stigma attached to mens mental health and understand that anybody can be struggling. So if anyone is ever struggling, please, please, please reach out. Chat with either of these amazing charities, call a family member, call a friend, speak to somebody you trust, speak to anyone! Just remember you’re never alone.

All I can say is a massive thank you for all of the lovely, thoughtful messages we have received. I’m sure he would have been overwhelmed with the impact he had on so many lives. I think we speak for everyone when we say he will be heartbreakingly missed and that we’ll take a part of Kevin as we move forward in our lives. He will remain a constant in our hearts and in our memories.

RIP Little Kev.

Kev, only if you knew how much light, energy, inspiration, you were giving us all, you would have understood our love and admiration was genuine. I am a bit upset with you but we'll clean the air at some point, on the other side.I'll remember you holding my hand, I'll remember you teaching me how to be better,I'll remember you dancing and I'll remember you being just perfect, as you were.
