Barbara Woollett (30 Jan 1937 - 6 May 2022)

In loving memory of Barbara 'Babs' Woollett who sadly passed away on 6th May 2022.

Babs was born in 1937 in Southampton, so her early childhood was during the war years, with an air raid shelter in the garden of her parents home. After marrying David, who she met at a church camp, she brought up three children, as well as losing her first son Timothy in infancy, to a congenital heart defect. She was a loving ‘Nana’ to six grandchildren, and ‘Great Nana’ to two great grandchildren.
Babs faith was very important to her, and aside from her other interests, she wrote many poems, hymns and paraphrases, publishing two booklets of poems, and having a number of hymns published by Jubilate, in hymn books such as Praise! and Psalms For Today.
At St Marys Sholing, she enjoyed her times of singing in the choir, and was much loved for her sweet nature and gestures of kindness.
