Fenns Meadow Green Burial Ground in Whitchurch, Shropshire, is a peaceful setting in the countryside which is suitable for those who prefer a green burial.

With scenic views to enjoy, the family-run site is part of Alkington Grange Farm. There is a ‘Pond of Reflection and a ‘Remembrance Tree’ at the grounds which are relaxing areas where family members and close friends can reflect on the life of the person who has died. Fenns Meadow offer natural burial graves that can be purchased in advance or during a time of need. They also offer the internment and scattering of ashes at their woodland area.

Open to religious or non-religious funerals, the service can be held at the church or a nearby venue or at the graveside.

Only biodegradable material should be used for coffins, urns and shrouds. Willow, wicker, bamboo, wood or cardboard are acceptable materials for urns or coffins, whereas shrouds should be made from cotton, jute or felt.

Fenns Meadow can provide a list of local funeral directors across North Shropshire, Wales and Cheshire for those who are seeking help with funeral arrangements.

Graves can be marked with black granite stone markers or wooden markers which can be purchased from them. Their handmade bier can be hired to transport the coffin to the graveside. All those who are laid to rest at Fenns Meadow Green Burial Ground will be entered into their Book of Remembrance.
