The co op funeral service on Chester Road in Sunderland were excellent. From the initial phone call to them we felt cared for . Everything was explained well. Everything we requested was done for us with out any trouble. Simon was very professional and very helpful to us at this difficult time.

The service & the staff were excellent with the arranging of Ernest’s funeral.  The only negative is, we were offered a free half hour legal service from the Co-Op.    

However, to date we have not received this service, having mentioned this to the staff on a couple of occasions now.

Apart from this everything went smoothly.

My Dad died suddenly on Christmas Eve which was a huge shock.Never dealt with anything like this before the staff in Funeralcare in Chester Road were great.Marie and Lynda in the office dealt with everything with great sensivitity.David was lovely and kept in touch regularly.               The service was lovely and my Dad would have been proud.

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for the beautiful send off you gave my Uncle Jack today.
The whole ceremony was so classy and stylish from his arrival in a beautiful limousine, the gorgeous flower arrangement, your lovely, respectful and stylish colleagues, the service conducted brilliantly by Debbie and finally, the great music to send him on his way.
We couldn't have wished for, or got, any better than you gave us today. My mam was thrilled at how good the whole ceremony was.
Jack's carers commented that we had done him proud.
I'm so glad we chose your company for Jack's funeral, so thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts.

They showed real compassion and empathy during my time of grief. The team were helpful and reassuring checking up to see if I needed any help to guide me through the funeral process. I felt my loved one was safe in their hands.

The whole staff working at Chester road funeralcare are all amazing they helped me through everything, they didn't rush me into making decisions or picking anything and they even helped me as I didn't have a clue how to arrange a funeral, my dad got a beautiful send off and it is exactly what he would of wanted, and they have kept me updated every step of the way, I would definitely recommend Chester Road Funeralcare and I know I'll be using them if needed in the future! We chose an eco woodland burial for my dad which we couldn’t attend for various reasons. Alison took care of my dad and the transportation of him to Northumbria. We received a 5* service and she was in constant contact with us during the process and attended the service with other directors and rang us afterwards to tell us that it had been a beautiful burial and location. Alison is a HUGE asset to your company

This is the only funeral I have ever arranged, so difficult to make any kind of comparison, but I found the process to be efficient and the advice I was given sensitive and helpful. The event (held under Cover-19 restrictions) went well and I am entirely satisfied that we were able to do the best funeral we could under the circumstances.
