Established in 1994, D L Hancock is a family-owned and run independent Funeral Directors based in Bicester, with a second branch in Oxford.
As members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) D L Hancock adhere to a strict code of conduct that provides assurance to their clients that they provide a high standard of service which families can trust in.
Darren and his team of experienced staff observe the values of treating their clients as if they were their own family and Darren himself believes in caring for bereaved families as he would want to be cared for himself. They feel a sense of pride in serving the community and the staff are able to cater to individual wishes and provide the level of personal touch that you can depend on with an independent Funeral Director.
Darren is assisted by Simon Williams, the Asst. Funeral Director with over 20 years experience, Helen Connor, the Office Manager and Funeral Arranger with over 10 years experience and Funeral Arrangers Carol Williams and Daniel Riley. All staff are highly trained in managing sensitive and distressing situations, handling bereavement with the greatest possible respect, empathy and compassion.
The Funeral Home in Bicester was converted from a residential property and retains a very 'homely' feel to ensure that families are offered the most comfortable surroundings possible to ask questions, express their loved one's wishes and discuss aspects of the funeral arrangements. In addition to arrangement rooms, this Funeral Home has a Chapel of Rest for families to visit and in some cases view their loved one in a quiet and private space. Staff will be on hand to show you into the chapel and they are willing to remain in attendance if requested, or leave visitors in peace to spend time alone with their loved one - it is very much the choice of each individual.

From start to finish Helen and the team at Hancock managed the whole process for my Fathers funeral exactly as we wished with no fuss, listening to our requirements and carrying them out perfectly allowing us to say farewell to our Father without the stress of any arrangements.
The team on the day assisted several of us to carry the coffin providing support and discreet organisation in a calm, professional manner.
We also utilised Hancock's celebrant Kim, who listened to our wishes, organised the structure of the service, compiled our written eulogy and delivered it with confidence and expertise.
Overall a 1st class service from start to finish, removing any stress and making a very difficult period bearable.

D.L Hancock Ltd were exceptional with the arrangement of our father's funeral, they facilitated all of our wishes, they were kind, professional and totally respectful both in the arrangements at the funeral home (the two ladies that we dealt with could not have done more,) and also at the crematorium, helping our family carry out our wishes with perfection.
It is such an important final goodbye and I would recommend D.L. Hancock without hesitation.
