'The Attended Funeral' includes the following:

Professional services
Completion of necessary paperwork
Transfer of deceased into our care at any time of the day or night within a 15 mile radius of our premises
Care of the deceased
A simple coffin suitable for burial or cremation
Provision of a simple cream dressing gown
Provision of a Hearse
Provision of a conductor and up to three members of staff to convey the coffin into the place of service using a wheeled bier, or to assist family bearers
Collection of cremated remains from the crematorium and retention on our premises prior to collection by our client
Date and time of the funeral at our discretion
Preparation of deceased (excluding embalming) and provision of viewing facilities if appropriate

About Us

Tracing their origin back to 1867, Gillotts Funeral Directors are a funeral director in Eastwood. They are proud to be an independent family business, offering caring and compassionate funeral services to families in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, although they are also happy to conduct funerals further afield if requested.

In 1867, Star Livery Stables on Victoria Street in Eastwood began providing horse-drawn hearses to local undertakers. The business continued to hire vehicles to undertakers throughout a wide area for many decades, until in the 1970's it became a fully fledged funeral service. In the 1980's it moved to its current location on the main road in Eastwood. Over the years, the business has grown to five funeral homes, through a merger with Gillotts Funeral Service - a long-running business in Heanor, and by opening satellite funeral homes in Stapleford, Kimberley and Selston.

As a true family business, the partners of the business are directly involved with its day to day operation of the funeral home. The partners are Barry and Elaine Hutsby, who have grown the Eastwood side of the business since the 1970's when they joined forces with Elaine's Aunt and Uncle, their daughter Joanne, and Anthony Topley, whose father-in-law founded the Heanor funeral home.

Gillotts Funeral Directors, Eastwood has its own fleet of modern and reliable Jaguar hearses and limousines, and can also arrange for bespoke transport such as horse-drawn hearses and motorbike hearses.

Gillotts were professional and caring from the beginning. We needed to arrange the funeral of a dear friend. My husband is next of kin and our friend died at home, as were his wishes. We couldn't have asked for more from Gillotts, for ourselves or our late friend; from the time they collected our friend, through to making all the arrangements, I felt they acted with upmost care and respect.
The people who attended the funeral also commented about how well organized they were.
