The whole team were kind, caring and professional from the moment we first made contact. On the day of the funeral nothing was too much trouble and they helped to make the day run smoothly.
Although A W Lymn's head office moved to Robin Hood House on Robin Hood Street in 1977, many people in the area still refer to this office as "Lymn's on Bath Street".
The head office, built by fourth generation George Rose in the late 1970's, has several in-house funeral directors to help families with their funeral needs, and also houses most of the company's administration staff.
The funeral home is staffed by funeral directors Kevin Browne, Paul Richardson, Philip Wilson, funeral arranger Megan Rosier and receptionist Lucinda Pallett.
The opening times are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm. Staff are also available to meet with you after office hours. Please call the telephone number at any time to arrange a convenient appointment.
Besides the administration and reception area, the premises have a coffin showroom, family rooms, visiting rooms, cold room facilities, a full fleet of hearses and limousines, a vintage fleet, stone masonry services and a florist.
A.W. Lymn's head office serves all of Nottingham city centre and its surrounding areas including Bobbers Mill, Colwick, Hyson Green, Mapperley, Radford, Sherwood, Sneinton, St. Ann's, The Meadows and beyond.
A W Lymn is owned and managed by the Lymn Rose family. Nigel Lymn Rose, one of the company's directors, was president of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) during its centenary year in 2005.

The day went as well as it could have, some guests have come back to us and commented favorably on the tone of the whole day. The car fleet is first rate and it was good to say goodbye to Mum with dignity. To us she was very special.

Our funeral arranger at Nottingham- Philip Wilson was amazing.
Nothing too much trouble, very welcoming and accommodating. Explained everything as I’ve never arranged a funeral before.

My mum’s funeral was wonderful. A send off she would of been proud of

Sadly my wife passed away on the 12th December 2022. It has been a very difficult time but A W Lymn Family Funeral Service have made that journey so much easier. I was not pressurised and given time to make the decisions for the funeral. The family were treated with the utmost tenderness, dignity and compassion. There was no problem very time changes were made to the process or the Order of Service. I was allowed to visit and sit with my wife even over the bank holiday. The funeral team dressed her and allowed the family to place mementoes with her.
The photographs and Order of service were magnificent and the memorial cards added to the comfort. During the service there were a large number of people in church but Lymn's team had plenty of staff available. The family were taken to their seats with quiet dignity. The flowers on the coffin were designed to match the wedding flowers and looked stunning.
My family were supported when they carried my wife in and out of Church and at the crematorium.
Before the service and after the funeral the Lead Funeral Director Mr Nigel Lymn rang to check all the details were correct and followed.
The whole journey was perfectly arrangement with compassion, dignity and care for which we are truly grateful.

We were all saddened when we received the call to say that Bonnie had died and this impacted upon all our staff, most of whom had known you during your time as Coroner for the County of Nottingham. I am pleased that we provided the standard of service that you had epxected from us and I am very grateful for all the thanks and accolades you have passed to our staff both in terms of this review and the personal notes you have sent to my family and our team here at A W Lymn. We used lymns as they had conducted our sisters service 7months before. Kevin and Maureen were in regular contact with me as the next of kin and followed all necessary instructions however, dad was with the coroner for longer than expected which meant he was not in his best state when it came to viewing and this is where we as a family feel lymns let us down as right up to the day before viewing embalming was still an option however, dad was unable to be embalmed and this was devastating as this was not mentioned before viewing but someone did state dad didn’t look His best. I feel to prevent this added upset in further lymns should state there is a timeframe on embalming, warn the family and dim the lights as this helped with the appearance.
