A W Lymn helped to sort out my mum's funeral 6 months prior as well and I can honestly say that they always give a personal touch to everything and make sure that you are cared for and as much of your wishes are carried out. Unfortunately we couldn't arrange the 6 virgins to carry my dad into the crematorium like he wanted but he would have been very proud of the way we said our goodbyes. I can't thank Joanne and Jane enough for everything they did for both my mum and dad in such a short period of time between their departures.

A.W. Lymn’s Clifton funeral home, located at Charworth House on Varney Road, has been serving the local community since 1990. Originally converted from a butcher’s shop, the premises were transformed into a warm and welcoming space.
For more than 35 years, the Clifton team has been a dedicated part of the local community—supporting charitable causes, helping families arrange personal and meaningful funerals, and proudly contributing to projects such as the Clifton War Memorial.
The branch is managed by Funeral Director Joanna Widdowson and is overseen by Senior Funeral Director Edward Martin, ensuring continuity of high standards and compassionate care.
A.W. Lymn has exciting plans for the future of the Clifton branch. In 2021, the company purchased Bob Sherwin’s garage on Southchurch Drive, which was demolished to make way for a purpose-built, state-of-the-art funeral home. Construction is due to begin in 2025, marking a new chapter in the provision of local funeral care.
This branch is ideally situated to serve Clifton, Clifton Village, Clifton Grove, Wilford, Gotham, East Leake, The Meadows, Silverdale, Lark Hill retirement complex, Thrumpton, Kingston upon Soar, Barton in Fabis, and surrounding areas.
As part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, a fifth-generation family-run business founded in 1907, the Clifton team remains committed to upholding a long-standing tradition of personalised and dignified funeral services. The company is led by directors Nigel, Matthew, and Jackie Lymn Rose.

This was a very difficult time for us and sadly a whole new experience for the family yet they guided us through it with ease and plenty of patience 🙏
Nothing was too much for them to do or sort out and kept an open line of communication throughout.
They did our mum/grandma/sister/friend proud and I will be telling everyone who listens this too.
Keep doing what you are doing because you are a strength of support and comfort in a yet sad and distressing time of a family who has just lost a loved one.

I cannot find fault with the services supplied by Lymn,s Good advice was always to hand. I am sorry to say that there were some problems but this was the result of a disruptive family member. Whilst l was really pleased with the funeral itself l was unhappy with the invoice. It had increased by £450 with no explanation. I had to ring and find out why . A mistake had been made and I was expected to accept it . I call that poor customer service.

We would recommend A W Lymn Funeral Directors as a highly efficient firm who care about every detail of the funeral. They made suggestions which were things that we hadn't thought about and if you could ever say that a funeral was a lovely event, the funeral for our daughter was certainly it.
