A.W. Lymn’s Bulwell funeral home is based at Middleton House, the oldest building in the town, located on Main Street. The premises are named in honour of Stanley Middleton, the celebrated local writer and Booker Prize winner, and father of company director Penny Lymn Rose.
Originally established as a funeral home in 1990, Middleton House was fully renovated and extended in 2022, blending traditional character with modern facilities.
The branch is led by Funeral Director Tony Knowles, who has been part of the A.W. Lymn team for over 40 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the families we serve. He is supported by Funeral Arranger Paige Gleedwood, who has great local knowledge and is currently working towards her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration.
Middleton House serves Bulwell and its surrounding areas, including Bestwood Park, Bestwood Village, Bulwell Forest, Bulwell Hall, Crabtree Farm, Heathfield and Leen Valley estates, Hempshill Vale, Heron Ridge, Highbury Vale, Sellers Wood, Snape Wood, Top Valley and beyond.
As part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, a fifth-generation family-run business established in 1907, the Bulwell team is committed to providing personalised, respectful care to families at their time of need.

Compassionate and professional throughout, Tina inparticular, nothing was too much to ask she is a lovely warm and welcoming lady, I doubt my nanas day would have been as beautiful as it was or ran as smoothly as it did without her and the lymns team.
Everything was explained, every little detail was covered, and I without a doubt will be happy to recommend lymns for anyone experiencing these hard times, they made it that little bit easier. We honestly will never be able to thank them enough.

We were and still are devastated at the loss of our fabulous mother.
We contacted Lymns bulwell branch and arrange the funeral with help from Kim Nichols. She was absolutely brilliant. So professional, helpful and extremely sympathetic always, whether face to face or on the telephone.
On the day of the funeral, the whole day was dealt with in a professional and extremely courteous manner throughout.
I would recommend this company to anyone who would be unfortunate to require their service.

Excellent service, only negative i can find is the choice of Vicar for the service who did not really prepare in advance and made it feel like he was reading off a piece of paper.

I can not thank you enough. Funerals are an emotional thing to arrange, but you was there every step of the way. Making phone calls to me to make sure that the day was in order from the start right until the end. From Kim at the Bulwell office right up to the cars and the funeral cortage. Couldn't fault anything

Stacey Bentley, Funeral Director for Lymn's Bulwell, is such a compassionate, caring, considerate, professional, and thorough person I have ever encountered. Stacey has helped me make my grieving process much easier. Stacey is my saviour. Stacey is an asset to the Lymn's family. I HIGHLY commend and recommend Lymn's. Thank you to ALL of your staff and an extra special thanks to Stacey for going above and beyond. Bless you. My Mum received the most outstanding care and presentation from when Lymn's received Mum to her final demise. A huge THANK YOU to the Pall Bearers who were very respectful and carried Mum beautifully. It really touched my heart. Thank you to the driver of the Hearse, and to everyone who helped prepare Mum. Because I am 5000 miles away, Stacey really was wonderful from beginning to end. Keeping me informed of every step. She really helped with my emotional state. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone.
