It was nice to feel listened to. The team showed empathy and support. Alway returning your call swiftly and dealing with any issues. Every member of staff was helpful along the way. And no matter how worried or anxious you become their reponse is always calm. A great team to work with.

The arrangements for my brother were overseen by Kim, she was extremely helpful and understanding in what was the worst time of my life!
She listened and walked me through all the necessary details. She called and emailed regularly to tell me about each stage at it was completed.
She was very understanding and sympathetic, totally committed to making sure that this final event for my brother was perfect.
Everyone who was involved at Lymns or had a part in the service also made everything run smoothly and they looked after everyone who attended but especially me in making sure I was okay at this most sad time.
I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who looked after Tony, driving him, carrying him and making his final hours with us special goodbye.

A.W. Lymn’s Bulwell funeral home is based at Middleton House, the oldest building in the town, located on Main Street. The premises are named in honour of Stanley Middleton, the celebrated local writer and Booker Prize winner, and father of company director Penny Lymn Rose.
Originally established as a funeral home in 1990, Middleton House was fully renovated and extended in 2022, blending traditional character with modern facilities.
The branch is led by Funeral Director Tony Knowles, who has been part of the A.W. Lymn team for over 40 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the families we serve. He is supported by Funeral Arranger Paige Gleedwood, who has great local knowledge and is currently working towards her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration.
Middleton House serves Bulwell and its surrounding areas, including Bestwood Park, Bestwood Village, Bulwell Forest, Bulwell Hall, Crabtree Farm, Heathfield and Leen Valley estates, Hempshill Vale, Heron Ridge, Highbury Vale, Sellers Wood, Snape Wood, Top Valley and beyond.
As part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, a fifth-generation family-run business established in 1907, the Bulwell team is committed to providing personalised, respectful care to families at their time of need.

The service we received was excellent. Matthew treated us all and especially my Mum with real care and compassion.
The driver was friendly in a subtle way and helped us to get through a difficult day.
Kim was excellent at sorting out our preferences and very compassionate when we visited Dad in the Chapel of Rest
Overall an excellent service from start to finish. I would certainly recommend Lymns as an outstanding Funeral Director.

The service we received from W A Lymn couldn’t have been better so professional and caring from the first conversation . Kim had time to spend talking and explaining everything at our pace not rushing us at all. Such care was taken with Dad he looked at such peace when we went to visit him. This is the first funeral we’ve had to plan and A.W.Lymn Bulwell made us feel so comfortable and any questions we had or requests for the day were answered and done with no hesitation. We were made to feel welcome and never felt like we were left to fend for ourselves, we always felt like nothing was too big or too small and we were given enough time to ourselves when we needed. I cannot thank them enough for a lovely treatment in a sad time.
