A.W. Lymn’s Bulwell funeral home is based at Middleton House, the oldest building in the town, located on Main Street. The premises are named in honour of Stanley Middleton, the celebrated local writer and Booker Prize winner, and father of company director Penny Lymn Rose.
Originally established as a funeral home in 1990, Middleton House was fully renovated and extended in 2022, blending traditional character with modern facilities.
The branch is led by Funeral Director Tony Knowles, who has been part of the A.W. Lymn team for over 40 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the families we serve. He is supported by Funeral Arranger Paige Gleedwood, who has great local knowledge and is currently working towards her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration.
Middleton House serves Bulwell and its surrounding areas, including Bestwood Park, Bestwood Village, Bulwell Forest, Bulwell Hall, Crabtree Farm, Heathfield and Leen Valley estates, Hempshill Vale, Heron Ridge, Highbury Vale, Sellers Wood, Snape Wood, Top Valley and beyond.

From first making contact with Lymns bulwell myself and my sister were reassured that our dad would be looked after 100 percent. We had a lovely man called Phillip who arranged our dad’s funeral with us and feel he went above and beyond to help make the whole process that little more bearable under the circumstances. A very professional and sincere approach to us when organising Mum’s funeral. Lymns were very flexible and happy to change small aspects of our arrangements as we went along.
