This is the second time our family has used A. W. Lymn to help organise and direct a funeral. We are once again Extreamly pleased with the service provided, the help of each staff member involved and the smooth deliverance on the day of the funeral. They are kind and compassionate, patient, super helpful, very understanding and the hight of professional. From the initial appointment, to guiding us through all the elements that need deciding upon to answering my many question over several days and helping me with the tech side of uploading photos for the order of service, visual/music tribute during the service and the online obituary. They evan helped with a few personal touch requests for the horses, as we had the four houses with carriage Hurst,... I must say they were Absolutely amazing to see, beautifully turned out. Everyone who saw them commented so. We also used one of their own Celebrates, called Mark, who was brilliant. He put a lot of time and effort into creating a wonderfully worded verbal tribute for my Grandma. He came to my dad's house to talk and gather the story of my Grandma's life. He is very happy to take any extra calls, texts or emails regarding any extra info etc. Mark also sent the draft out to us in good time for any amendments if required. Mark speaks with a lovely tone, and was a pleasure to have him deliver the service. All the staff made sure we were alright on the day. They are brilliant at guiding you through the steps for carrying the coffin in (for those taking part in that (they can also do it for you if preferred). A. W. Lymns made what was a different day as easy as possible and the whole day ran smoothly. We would definitely use this company again for any future funerald. (little note to be aware of, if you choose the horse drawn Hurst, and it turns out to be a super hot day, be prepared for having to be ready to depart from family members house, if calling by there before going to the service, earlier than originally planned, could be 20 mins earlier all depending on how far the horses are travelling. The horses need to take it steadier with the Excessive heat. Just as we humans would need to. Do not be deterred by this, just be prepared for being ready to leave extra early. The Horses really are worth it. I'd still have the horses again. Had them for both funerals, first one was a warm, but reasonably so, day, so no time adjustments made. The second time was 32 degrees C. (hence horses needing to move at a steadier pace) Thank you all so much from all the Cunningham family.

About Us
A.W. Lymn’s Bulwell funeral home is based at Middleton House, the oldest building in the town, located on Main Street. The premises are named in honour of Stanley Middleton, the celebrated local writer and Booker Prize winner, and father of company director Penny Lymn Rose.
Originally established as a funeral home in 1990, Middleton House was fully renovated and extended in 2022, blending traditional character with modern facilities.
The branch is led by Funeral Director Tony Knowles, who has been part of the A.W. Lymn team for over 40 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the families we serve. He is supported by Funeral Arranger Paige Gleedwood, who has great local knowledge and is currently working towards her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration.
Middleton House serves Bulwell and its surrounding areas, including Bestwood Park, Bestwood Village, Bulwell Forest, Bulwell Hall, Crabtree Farm, Heathfield and Leen Valley estates, Hempshill Vale, Heron Ridge, Highbury Vale, Sellers Wood, Snape Wood, Top Valley and beyond.
As part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, a fifth-generation family-run business established in 1907, the Bulwell team is committed to providing personalised, respectful care to families at their time of need.
