Standard Simple Funeral

Service includes:

This is what Co-op Funeralcare offer as part of their Simple Funeral:

They will remove your loved one from their place of death into their care within a 50 mile radius
If death occurs out of normal working hours, at home or in a care home, they will remove your loved one into their care, out of hours, at no extra cost
They will prepare, care for and dress your loved one in a gown to match the interior of their Basic Coffin
Your loved one will rest in their mortuary facility, or if required, a private rest room in their funeral home
You’ll be able to visit your loved one during normal working hours at no additional charge
They will transport your loved one from the funeral home to the crematorium or burial site in a ceremonial vehicle of their choice
On the day of the funeral, a wheeled bier will be used or the family can bear the coffin
They will make all necessary arrangements for a dignified funeral
Your funeral director will be there at the funeral to support and guide you through the funeral

Initially it was quite stressful, but it ended up being one of the greatest days anyone can remember! As I had never done this before I thought you just book a funeral. But as I wrote the service I realised it would never all fit in, as the crematorium allow just the 30 per service. This made me very anxious I kept re-reading the service, I didn't want to cut anything out and I didn't want to rush it. But Tracey was great and managed to rebook a double slot at the crematorium. We played all the important songs and I managed to give a decent outline of dad's life. I would urge anyone doing this, at the first meeting, to have a rough outline prepared of what they want to do, so any special features get booked in from the outset, and there is no need to revise anything after.
Overall we managed to put together an unforgettable day!

Firstly Marcus and the car team are the shining lights of co-op funeral care and should really get 5 stars!
Highly recommend them.

BUT
Unfortunately the rest of the co-op team let them down and leave a lot to be desired. Hence the average stars..
Poor communication,(unless they want more money from you) poor organisation. Shame as they should be making this process easier for the bereaved.

The whole process of arranging the funeral was made much easier by the helpful advice and actions of all the staff at the co-op funeral service. I would like to think particularly Cecilia for all her help with the arrangements and Caroline for the arrangements at the crematorium.

Words cannot express how gratefull i am for the level of professional service recieved from the CO-OP staff to ensure my fathers funeral went to plan and stress free, everything was coverd and explained in detailed and the level of care was comforting and im sure my late father would be very proud as he also was a undertaker for the co-op for years before his retirement, thank you again for a top level service 🙏❤️✝️
