How much does a funeral cost?

The cost of a funeral depends on where you are in the UK and whether you choose a burial or a cremation. Natural burial is becoming increasingly popular, but can often be more expensive than burial in a traditional cemetery. The cost of coffins, flowers, catering and transport also varies a lot. The funeral director on the day was excellent, this terrible review is for Co Op Funeralcare not individuals. The funeral arranger seemed to try their best but was over worked and difficult to contact due to branch refurbishments(elsewhere), staff shortages at other branches and job sharing. To be asked about an order of service and flowers on the Thursday before a Monday funeral really is cutting it fine (these were sourced elsewhere earlier in the week due to our lack of confidence in Funeralcare). The Co Op sells funeral plans, it then makes it difficult to redeem them at other versions of the Co Op, this is very disingenuous for customers to deal with at a difficult time. I have advised all my family and friends of the truly dreadful service I have received from Co Op and have advised against purchasing funeral plans from them.

Excellent service from the start from the Beckenham Branch.I and my family really appreciated everything Nicholas and the team did to accommodate our wishes with  professionalism and compassion. Also introducing us to other services to ensure Dad’s funeral was perfect and personal to us. A special mention to Victoria whose attention to detail was outstanding together with her lovely calming manner organising funeral mass, committal and burial. It made a difficult period bearable for which we will always be thankful . With gratitude and heartfelt thanks Bridget Huxley

Pauline at the Godstone parlour has been exceptional throughout the whole process of guiding me through organising my Fathers funeral. Pauline was always there to advise and comfort me when I needed it. Such a horrible emotional time but certainly helped by working with a lovely, courteous and compassionate lady. Thank you Pauline. On the day of the funeral all the staff, especially Robert, were very courteous and polite. Stoneman Funeral Service is a lovely Company to have look after you at a time of need.

Nick and the team organised my father's funeral at Beckenham Crematorium recently. They were unbelievably helpful. Deciding on the crematorium, the programme, the celebrant, the webcast, the grave and all the other details were made so much easier by Nick's gently cheerful, friendly and open demeanour. Nothing is too much trouble, and saving money is all in the package. He also recommended a celebrant, Jo Napthine as suitable for our programme who helped us develop a beautiful celebration of my father's life and then led it for us. The last tribute to my father by all all the family was a positive experience none of us will forget, including those who watched from home because of Covid. I could not ask for a better funeral to say goodbye to my dad.

The support and kindness shown by Nick and the team was excellent and it gave us great comfort that my brother was treated with dignity and respect throughout this difficult time for his family
