Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do when someone dies?

When someone dies you need to get a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death from a doctor, register their death and choose a funeral director to arrange their funeral. The Registration Office will give you a Death Certificate and Certificate for Burial or Cremation (GR021 in Northern Ireland).

How do you arrange a funeral?

You can arrange a funeral by choosing a funeral director who will help you organise all of the details. They can help you decide whether to have a cremation or burial and what type of service to choose, as well as additional options, such as music and flowers. You can find out what happens at a funeral and compare funeral directors on Funeral Guide.

How much does a funeral cost?

The cost of a funeral depends on where you are in the UK and whether you choose a burial or a cremation. Natural burial is becoming increasingly popular, but can often be more expensive than burial in a traditional cemetery. The cost of coffins, flowers, catering and transport also varies a lot. There is also an almost unlimited list of options for personalising a service, such as professional funeral singers or a motorcycle-hearse. You can compare the price of funeral directors on Funeral Guide.

We were very pleased with everything Mr Morse did for the funeral. We particularly appreciated his flexibility to accommodate our preferences in the way the day was structured, and his thoughtful communication to keep us informed as activities were completed.

Ed & the whole team were so supportive & professional throughout. We originally had to call them out around 3am and no questions, they were there within 30 minutes. From then on, they guided us through the process of arranging the funeral, listening carefully to our wishes. I would recommend them without hesitation.

After calling up a couple of other Funeral Directors in the area, I tried Brunskill Family Funerals and speaking with Ed I quickly realised I had found what I needed: a caring, knowledgeable and reliable service. I have no hesitation in recommending Brunskill Family Funerals. Thank you Ed and team.

So kind , so helpful in guiding us through such an emotional time .. absolute professionals . Dealt and referred to my father with total respect and dignity.  I cannot recommend them enough to help and guide you through the toughest of times . Dad insisted he wanted no fuss no cremation service- Paul put no pressure to make it anything we did not need to meet Dads wishes . Thank you Paul Morse, I trust you with me when my time comes .
