Having not had to arrange a funeral before you just hope that your funeral directors of choice will help you throughout the process and make things go as smoothly as possible. We went to John Weir based on the recommendations of friends and colleagues and we were not disappointed at all. Their service from start to finish was exemplary, offering advice when asked but never pushing us towards anything, we felt in complete control of all the decisions. The legal issues, what we needed to do, who we needed to speak to, arranging the celebrant, the music, suggestions as to where to go for flowers, right down to printing the order of services was handled professionally and thoughtfully throughout by Anna in our case, but everyone we spoke to from the firm was very nice. Delicate conversations regarding the way the deceased was dealt with before, during and after the service were handled with great dignity and respect. On the day of our service, everything ran like clockwork, with wonderful touches such as having our family members war medals on display were just added bonuses. I have no hesitation in recommending John Weir to anyone who has lost a loved one, and wants their final journey to go smoothly and be handled very professionally.

Anna was most professional, helpful and empathetic, the process was explained in detail so that we knew exactly what to expect. The Celebrant, Kathryn Sanson, was equally efficient and the Service was very much as we would have liked it to be as it was a small family affair.
The manner in which the whole difficult period for us was handled made it much easier for us, as a family, to get through what was a very traumatic time.

John Weir Funeral Directors were first class being not only extremely professional but kind and caring from the moment I made the first phone call to them to when our mum was finally laid to rest. Kevin and his team on the day were just lovely, helping the family pall bearers and ensuring everything ran to time. At such a sad time it's so good to know you can leave everything in safe hands.

Particular thanks to Anna Daltrey who guided us through every step of the emotional process, explaining what we needed from the hospital, what the registrar needed from us and finally arranging the service and liaising with the celebrant. Every action was confirmed by email.
On the day of the funeral , the drivers and attendants were caring and attentive without being intrusive.
