The actual initial arrangements with Sheila was fine, at the time I paid for the direct Cremation in full as I didn't know my sister had a insurance with the coop contribution.. then it all seemed to go downhill..I work for coop funeralcare (not Farnworth) but I feel I was treated like a colleague not as a grieving client. My Sister died on 30th Sept and arrangements were made on Monday 3rd Oct. I had to keep phoning farnworth coop to see where we were up to with arrangements. and on one phone call I was asked if I was still off work which I replied yes to then be told wasn't I lucky!!!..lucky I said I have just lost my sister..was not happy with that comment . My Sister was still in hospital on 10th October and still no arrangements had been made . Eventually I was advised on 13th Oct that My sister's funeral would be taking place on 20th Oct again this was after me ringing farnworth coop. On the Friday I received a email and a phonecall from a different coop in the Bolton area confirming her funeral. I found out My sister had a sunlife over 50s plan. On phoning Sunlife they advised this had a coop contribution so I took all paperwork into Farnworth coop who sent off the details to redemption team who could find no record of this..coop at farnworth told me to ring sunlife again which I did and sunlife advised me they had sent all the details to coop. Phoned farnworth again they advised me that they had been advised by head office there was no plan..I was given the phone numbers to phone the coop redemptions myself who initial again could not find it but then they did,all this going backwards and forwards was all very stressful. I sent coop all my details for my refund on 24th Oct but up to now 3rd Nov I have still not received this . Also the coop rang me on the day of my sister funeral I didn't answer but a message was left asking for me to ring them..I thought this was very disrespectful I know my sister was having a direct Cremation but we as a family had gatherd together that day and to receive the call was not good..I feel that I have had to cope with not just losing a sister suddenly. but the additional stress of coop not arranging things with the insurance and passing everything back to me to deal with very stressful. After the funeral we then had to contact sunlife to arrange for the rest of the insurance to be redeemed but again they advised us that they haven't received the paperwork from the coop so could not proceed with the claim yet this was on 26th Oct. Not a good experience at all..
