Ian, Daneesha and the team at Ian George Funeral Directors were absolutely fantastic.  From the initial telephone call to discuss funeral arrangements nothing was ever too much trouble.  Ian was so considerate and thoughtful both on the telephone and in person. Always offering helpful suggestions and coming up with solutions if problems arose.  He made an incredibly difficult time as easy as it could be.

Every aspect of my dear Brens funeral was absolutely first rate and my thanks go to Ian George and his team as the day was without any problems whatsoever. The order of service was beautifully compiled and we were guided through the service by Dereck (the Minister) with great reverence and sincerity.
All the family and many other attendees at the Chapel were impressed with this lovely celebration of Brens life.

Ian George Funerals were both friendly and professional when I used them for my Auntie’s funeral and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. I dealt with Dave Hargreaves throughout the arrangements and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a very difficult time but he was so kind and just made you feel that he had everything under control and that my job was just to be there for my Auntie and he would deal with everything else. This has been the first time I've had to deal with making any funeral arrangements. Ian was so friendly and helpful, he really made what was a terribly difficult time as smooth and simple as possible. He took care of everything and explained the process and everything I needed to do. I cant thank him enough for making that process as smooth as possible and giving my gramp the send off he would have approved of. The day itself went very well and Ian spoke beautifully at the funeral.

There were a few things that let it down both before and after the funeral,.
These were the backwards and forward of emails about the speech we had wrote, we were told it was too long for the time frame. we had to cut it back. After spending a lot of time deciding on how we could cut bits out, we were then told it was ok as it originally was. So the stress, tears and time were for nothing.
In fact at the funeral there was time to spare.
After the funeral, the Urn was returned to us with glue marks on and I am still chasing them for the memorial money that was collected on the day of the funeral (Oct 9th) it is now almost a month on.

However both Ian and Denesha are lovely people who put you at ease when you are at your most vulnerable.
On the day of Mum's funeral they knew she loved robins and they had gone out and bought a robin decoration which was placed on top of Mum's wicker casket, such a lovely thought.
They also went to the trouble of dropping the flowers round at the house later on that night, as Mum was coming home to her garden, so we placed the funeral flowers in the garden.

All in all, we would use Ian again. I know they are very busy with the business and work all sorts of hours. It was a shame that those little things let it down.

From collecting my father’s body almost immediately, to the planning of his funeral, and the day itself, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ian and his wife Denesha were both respectful but with a light touch which made the world of difference to the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble. I think the two words I would use are respect and dignity.

I found Ian to be very approachable, accommodating, professional and sensitive from the start of the process. Having not arranged a funeral before, I was naïve as to what was involved and Ian made the process as easy and as smooth as it can be. The team as a whole were always easy to contact at any time and would be as involved as you wanted them to be - Ian was very happy to perform the celebrant role and to take on any elements of the service that we needed him to. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ian George.

Ian and Denisha have arranged two close family funerals in recent years , the attention to detail and ability to pick up on details and suggestions for incorporating  it into the main service are to their credit , and make an ordinary small funeral a very special and personal family service .
Dignity , communication and professionalism are evident at all times and ensured a tragic passing became a celebration of life , a proper family business that is highly recommended, thank you
