My husband passed away in April and I didn't know how I was going to cope with organising the funeral. The Ladies at the co-op at the Maypole were fantastic. They were sympathetic and had amazing advice. The funeral day was really really lovely and I felt very well looked after. A special thank you to Lisa at the Maypole for her kindness.

Robert Parker 30th Apr 2018

Our meetings with the staff at funeralzone were held in a professional manner but with empathy and understanding. We mainly dealt with Lisa who was very knowledgeable and had the patience of a saint when it came to the order of service which was changed several times in order to get it right. Nothing was too much trouble. Prior to the day itself, I was contacted by Catherine who confirmed all the arrangements by phone. On the day she introduced herself and guided us through the process with professionalism. We were kept informed of where dad was being kept initially and later when he moved to the Maypole. On behalf of the family, I would like to thank everyone for their advice, guidance and support.

    Jennie Martin replied
Thank you very much for such lovely, kind words. I will make sure that your comments are passed back to our team in Maypole. I'm so pleased we were about support you and your family at this difficult time. Best wishes, Jennie at Central England Co-operative

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you arrange a funeral?

You can arrange a funeral by choosing a funeral director who will help you organise all of the details. They can help you decide whether to have a cremation or burial and what type of service to choose, as well as additional options, such as music and flowers. You can find out what happens at a funeral and compare funeral directors on Funeral Guide.

What are disbursements?

Disbursements are additional costs for a funeral service that are paid to third-parties, such as florists, celebrants and burial fees. The funeral director will usually charge you for them and then pay the suppliers themselves.

How can I get help with funeral costs?
